The Ultimate Smoothie Selector, developed for Men's Health and Women's Health magazines is an exciting new example of raising brand awareness through mobile user-generated content. The application comes packed with over 90 smoothie recipes, which users can add to their favorites, and rate on a 1-5 star system. Ratings from all users are updated every time the app is run, allowing the individual to easily view smoothies by popularity.

The user can also enter their own recipe, and take an accompanying picture of the smoothie on their phone. The recipe is uploaded to the client's server, where they can alter and approve the recipe for inclusion in the application. The new user-generated recipe is then downloaded by all other users the next time they run the application. A handful of additional features round out the package.

We provided the client with a custom content-management system to moderate user content and manage the smoothies in the application. The CMS included a REST API, which we built from scratch to enable application-CMS interaction.
